The Benefits of Pregnancy Yoga Classes for Birth

Pregnancy yoga classes are a gentle and effective way to prepare your body and mind for birth. Research shows that people who attend prenatal yoga classes experience lower stress and anxiety levels, improved breathing and body awareness, and often report less pain during labor. Studies also suggest that regular pregnancy yoga practice can contribute to a shorter, more positive birth experience.

By focusing on relaxation, strength, flexibility, and breathwork, pregnancy yoga classes support both physical comfort during pregnancy and emotional confidence for labor and birth.

Evidence:
These benefits are supported by research published in The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine and The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, which report positive effects of prenatal yoga on stress reduction, pain management, and overall birth outcomes.

“ Helen’s pregnancy yoga classes were really special. She created a wonderful safe environment for all to share and open up, and delivered calm, inclusive practices that I will cherish and use going forward. Always with adaptations where required. “

I couldn't recommend Helen's classes enough - they have been one of my constants throughout pregnancy. Helen takes the time each session to hold space for us and tailor the class to our needs. She is intuitive and really cares which shines through. The yoga itself is the perfect mix of relaxation and gentle strengthening, my sleep is always so much better after going too! Thank you Helen, it has honestly been such a pleasure to come along each week and I look forward to continuing post partum with my babes in tow xx
